YOGA / MEDITATION
RETREAT
Fr. Korko Moses, an Indian Jesuit is coming to Ireland for the month of April to give yoga /
meditation retreats in different parts of the country. The term yoga may be off putting for some people
but according to Fr. Korko, yoga is a scientific way to bring the mind to stillness and to align the body, mind and spirit
correctly. Meditation goes beyond all concepts to encounter God who is beyond name and form. Fr. Korko also says his spiritual
life has been enriched as a Christian and his knowledge of Jesus has been broadened through yoga / meditation.
The retreats are for people seeking to deepen their relationship with God and the Universe. They are also for people
who find it difficult to pray and may have lost meaning in life. Fr. Korko is in the process of setting
up an Ashram (a Spiritual Centre for yoga and meditation) in Dublin to provide a space for Spiritual development and inner
growth with Sr. Stan.

Parenting Support for FamiliesBringing up children today can
be much more difficult because times have changed. The Diocesan Pastoral Centre is pleased to offer a series of parenting
programmes.This
course is for ordinary parents from every walk of life. The purpose of the course is to give parents a chance to stand back
from everything and, with the support of other parents, look at ways of improving communication with your children, disciplining
them, etc.Research
has shown us that a home
(a) where children are given a fair hearing,
(b) where they are encouraged to participate in the work and life of
the family and
(c)
where basic rules of right and wrong are fairly and consistently enforced produces confident and caring adults. These are flexible, self-help
courses for groups of 8–16 participants, who come together with a trained facilitator for a two-hour session each week
for six or eight weeks. These programmes, which are designed to provide support at all stages of the family life cycle, have been developed
by Family Caring Trust and tested in
various social settings. The Diocesan Pastoral Centre offers these classes twice a year:
September–December and January-April.In his commitment to the pastoral care of families
Bishop Martin Drennan is happy to continue to subsidise these initiatives. As such, the cost for an eight week programme is
€50 per individual or €75 per couple with confidential waivers where necessary. In order to book in for a class or to organize a group
in your own parish or community, please phone Eileen Kelly or Eilish Glynn at +353-91-565066. Eileen Kelly is a psychologist
and the coordinator of the programmes. Mothers Prayers every Monday except bank holidaysMothers Prayers for mothers and
